Illinois has not legalized or decriminalized psilocybin. The Chicago City Council passed a resolution in 2022 urging the state to decriminalize entheogenic plants and fungi and to study their therapeutic use, and the CURE Act (Compassionate Use and Research of Entheogens Act) has been introduced in Springfield to create an Oregon-style supervised program.
