Licensed natural medicine healing centers offer facilitated psilocybin sessions under the Natural Medicine Health Act (Prop. 122).
Licensed natural medicine healing centers (Prop. 122).
Colorado voters approved the Natural Medicine Health Act (Proposition 122) in November 2022, legalizing supervised use of psilocybin and psilocin for adults 21+. The Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) began issuing healing-center, facilitator, cultivation, and testing licenses in late 2024, and the first licensed sessions opened to the public in 2025.
Colorado's program is broader than Oregon's. Personal use, gifting, and non-commercial cultivation of psilocybin mushrooms, ibogaine, DMT, and mescaline (excluding peyote) were decriminalized statewide the moment the law took effect. Licensed healing centers offer facilitated sessions, and second-phase rules will add DMT, ibogaine, and mescaline to the licensed framework by 2026.
Explore Colorado's licensed healing centers, facilitators, and psychedelic-adjacent retailers on the map below. Denver, Boulder, and Colorado Springs are early hubs, with more centers opening across the Front Range and Western Slope.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about mushrooms in Colorado.
Is psilocybin legal in Colorado?
Yes, in two ways. Personal use, gifting, and non-commercial cultivation of psilocybin are decriminalized statewide for adults 21+. Commercial sale is limited to DORA-licensed healing centers offering facilitated sessions.
What's the difference between Colorado and Oregon?
Colorado decriminalized personal use statewide and covers additional plant medicines (ibogaine, DMT, mescaline). Oregon has only the licensed-service-center pathway — personal possession is still illegal there.
Can I grow my own mushrooms in Colorado?
Adults 21+ can grow psilocybin mushrooms for personal use on private property. Sale is prohibited outside the licensed healing-center system.
When do ibogaine and DMT centers open?
Rules for ibogaine, DMT, and mescaline healing centers are scheduled to finalize by mid-2026 under the law's second phase.
